About this Course

PRINCE2 is a process-based approach for project management, providing an easily tailored and scalable method for the management of all types of projects, across industries, both locally and internationally. The continued international development of PRINCE2 examinations, training and course material is contributing significantly to the recognition of PRINCE2, as a truly relevant and international project management standard.



Audience


One or a combination of the following:

  • Business managers, to learn the language of projects
  • Sponsors, who need to know what a project manager should be doing
  • Project managers, who would be expected to continue to Practitioner
  • Project support staff, co-ordinators and officers
  • Team managers and members.

Prerequisites

Participants should:

  • be Project Managers or Team Leaders or have had involvement in a project environment
  • ideally have completed a project management fundamentals course
  • have approximately 12 months project involvement/experience

At Course Completion

The objective of this course is for each participant to be able to:

  • Understand all aspects of the PRINCE2 methodology
  • Know  how  to  deliver  projects  on  time,  within  budget  and  to defined quality requirements
  • Effectively control the start, progress and closure of a project
  • Integrate the PRINCE2 Principles and Themes into a project
  • Establish a project organization with the appropriate stakeholders
  • Apply  planning  processes  that  ensure  alignment  with  project business case and quality requirements
  • Manage the progress of a project using the appropriate control mechanisms

Included in the course cost is the Managing Successful Projects with Prince 2 manual

The PRINCE2 Foundation Examination is:

  • One hour duration
  • 75 multiple choice questions
  • 38 correct answers are required to pass
  • Closed book

Students are strongly encouraged to attend the Practitioner course immediately after the Foundation course. This is because the Practitioner exam requires strong current knowledge of the PRINCE2 book. This knowledge is gained in the Foundation course and therefore is still fresh for assisting with passing the Practitioner exam.
