Attendees must have a thorough understanding of file handling, spreadsheet fundamentals and be confident creating complex functions and formulas and creating simple charts. These topics are all covered in our Excel Essential Skills and Excel Timesaving Features courses.

This course is essential for anyone needing to analyse data and then report on that data. It explores the database features, which simplify the task of analysing large amount of information.

Course Outline


Working with Data 2
Use Databases and Tables to automatically format and filter information. Consolidate data into one location. Use Advanced Filters to filter to greater depths.. Massage the data into a form of your choice and explore database functions such as DSUM, which returns the sum of numbers that meet your criteria.

Importing and Exporting Data
It can be as simple as copy and paste or as complex as using a query to extract data from an Access database.

Working with Data 3
Use the VLOOKUP function to search for a value in a table and return a value from the same row. Group and Outline your data and learn how to use Data Tables to test the effects of different inputs on the results of a formula.

Using Analysis Tools
Use Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts to analyse your data. Answer those what if questions with Goal Seek, Scenarios and the Solver.
